Burning Brain is the newest recording from Tucson Arizona's alt-alt-country band: Golden Boots. Released and made digitally available by Park the Van Records, the ten song album was recorded at the Golden Boots' home studio, Soild Gold, and mixed at Loveland Studio in Tucson, AZ. The album is a happy earache, a whimsical ramshackle of fractured pop. Golden Boots has been around for the last seven years, the first four of which can be summed up by two suitcases full of unmarked four-track cassettes and a handful of performances shifting around a hodge-podge of instruments. A style that comes through in their sound. Since 2001 Golden Boots has consisted primarily of songwriters Ryen Eggleston and Dimitri Manos, who have been continually performing and recording strings of primitive crumbly western no-grass. By 2005, the pair ended up with an eight-track tape machine, and they recorded the self-released album, "Bland Canyon Adventure." Their desire to play out more sparked the formation of a steady live line-up, and so became the Golden Boots as you may see them now. |
