In what's bound to start a chain of similar tour runs, Park the Van is going to take the show on the road. This Summer, we're bringing Floating Action and Generationals to the West Coast for the first time! Please come support these artists as they make the trek across the Mississippi and Rocky Mountains to make their way to cities like Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Tucson and many more. We're going to be giving away free copies of our PTV Summer Sampler '09 in both digital and physical formats soon. So stay tuned to ParktheVan.com for further updates.

Big PTV Party Tonight!

Tonight the New Orleans Indie Rock Collective and Park The Van records present A Night Of PTV Magic! Joining Lousiana acts The Peekers and Generationals is Floating Action and The High Strung for a night of amazing live performances!

The party starts at 9PM at the Marigny Theater, be there and be bare!

The High Strung launch new blog, tour the US, and prep for Guantanamo Bay!

On Monday May 18th, the High Strung launched the Monday/Wednesday/Friday Blog. This is an on-going free content project by the Detroit rock band, designed as a means to give music to the people, a means to stay creative, to deliver on behalf of a larger than life body of work, to share with their fans a boat-load of music. As the High Strung traverse the Nation, playing small bars, large rock clubs, public schools, libraries, even Guantanamo Bay Cuba(!!), they will be posting songs for you to share and love, stream and download. For free. All of this stuff is super incredible, and you just need to make sure you get out and see the High Strung live as soon as you can. New High Strung & Floating Action Albums!

We couldn't possibly be any more excited to tell you about two new albums that we've released today that we want you to own, love, and abuse.

First up, the latest and greatest effort from the High Strung. Recorded outside of Toronto w/David Newfeld (Broken Social Scene, Super Furry Animals, Los Campesinos!). This High Strung record is the most expansive and experimental album the band has recorded to date. Songs like "In the Middle", "Guilt is how I'm built" and "Rope" have become instant favorites in the PTV office.

This next record is presently infecting the brainspaces of unsuspecting music lovers all over the world. Fans of Sharon Jones & the Dapkings, early Wailers, and "One Foot in the Grave" era Beck will soon realize why they are falling madly in love with this debut record from Seth Kauffman's Floating Action. You may have seen them on tour last year with Dr. Dog, or Band of Horses. This is one of those records that could easily define your summer. Soundtrack for your soul esè!

Park The Van signs Generationals!

We just signed our favorite new band, and our first New Orleans band, Generationals. You must take the time to discover them. Grant Widmer and Ted Joyner were once in the adored Baton Rogue band, Eames Era. Well those days are long gone, and this new project is here for us to know and love. Check them out on myspace, follow them on twitter and get ready to see them live (they go to NY next month!). They are incredible, and these songs are unforgettable. Their debut record, Con Law, will be coming your way in July on Park the Van.
