The Teeth call it quits! In case you haven't heard about it on the myspace, the internet, or the your friends, the lovely scamps from PA have parted ways in the most undramatic of fashions. To celebrate this (if that word can even be associated with the void this has put in all our hearts), DayTrotter has just put up an article which includes what could be the last-and-final recording of The Teeth's unreleased song "When The Cat's Away".

Park The Van in Austin!

March 10th, 2008

It's that time of the year again. Graphic designers are asked to work overtime. Your eardrums take a licking. Everyone wants to give you beer. And nobody wansta' pay! South by Southwest! Woo-hoo! We're going to be there of course. Getting our faces dirty and messing our jeans. Trying our best to be the fanciest hen in the henhouse. It's not as easy as you'd want it to be. Everyone out there has incredible ideas! But here's one thing we know won't happen anywhere but Emo's Annex on Saturday Night: Park the Van Record & Daytrotter.com are teaming up to bring you the musical equivalent of Friendship Fever! It all goes down at 7pm.

7pm - Pepi Ginsberg
8pm - Tulsa
9pm - The High Strung
10pm - Ra Ra Riot
11pm - The Teeth
12am - The Spinto Band
1am - Dr. Dog

Ain't she pretty? Of course, that's not our only exploitation in town. There are plenty of other things happening. Check out our list (link 'list' to the SXSW page) to get the scoop. Promise yourself that you'll endeavor to join us, that's all we can ask of you. Oh yeah... free stickers, sampler cds, beer, bbq, ganja, puppies... all that jazz. See you there!

DR. DOG
FATE

RELEASE DATE:
07/22/08

“FATE” is the record Dr. Dog were destined to make, a timeless yet contemporary distillation of the band’s open-armed, big-hearted sound taken to new heights of craft and creativity. Inventive, magnificently realized, and absolutely irresistible, the Park The Van Records release sees the Philadelphia-based quintet filtering the gamut of American popular music into its own idiosyncratic brand of blue-eyed, dilated-pupil soul. Songs like “Hang On” and “Uncovering the Old” delve deep into the mysteries of life and love, offering bittersweet and buoyant reflections into the very nature of our human condition. As ever, Dr. Dog makes magic from an enduring pop palette of intricate harmonies, shape-shifting melodies, and ramshackle audio ingenuity – all presented through the band’s slightly skewed and utterly individualistic outlook.
